This is the University's motto, eloquently honored by the twin figures standing behind the majestic Alma Mater.

The Alma Mater statue was designed by alumnus Loredo Taft and cast in 1929 by the American Art Bronze Foundry. It was unveiled on Alumni Day in 1929.
