G. Tim Bachman
G. Tim Bachman (BS ’70, chemical engineering; MS ’74, environmental engineering) resides in Savoy and recently retired after 31 years at the Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District as the director of operations and maintenance. He continues to serve as a senior advisor to the district and remains active in professional organizations related to water environment. After graduating from Illinois, Tim spent nearly 10 years with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency as a field engineer in water pollution control before transitioning to the Urbana & Champaign Sanitary District. In Tim’s application letter, he wrote: “I appreciate the education we received at Illinois and the subsequent opportunities that education provided for me. I have also enjoyed living in Champaign-Urbana since my graduation and staying connected to the University of Illinois.”
