Michael K. Brandt
Michael K. Brandt (AB '75, political science) of Savoy, is vice president of claims and legislation at Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. in Champaign. After graduating from LAS in 1975, Michael entered the College of Law at the University of Illinois and graduated magna cum laude in 1979. He then returned to his hometown, LaSalle-Peru, Ill., and practiced law with attorney James J. Duncan, PC. In 1984, Michael returned to Champaign-Urbana to work as a staff attorney at Attorneys' Title Guaranty Fund, Inc., where he held several positions before being promoted to vice president. In this post, he oversees title insurance claims, litigation, legislation, and general legal matters. Michael has participated in LAS Career Information Night for the past eight years. He believes that he brings several helpful qualities to the board, including "a long-term interest and involvement in the University, experience serving on professional and community committees and boards, and a commitment to making the University a source of value and pride to students, alumni, the Champaign County community, and the state of Illinois."
