Alice O. Faron

Alice O. Faron (AB '70, sociology) resides in Champaign and consults with Scherer Schneider Paulick Corporation, Chicago, to develop curriculum materials for baby boomers and retirees. She also serves as a workshop leader for the University of Illinois Tax School to manage logistics, registrations, and instruction for tax seminars held throughout the state. In 2005, Faron retired from the University of Illinois as the director of the LeaderShape Institute. In this position, she helped to expand growth from 96 participants in 1986 to a total of 20,000 in 2005. In Faron's application letter she commented: "I know how to work with a team, create exciting opportunities for growth, and value the discipline of responsible action and follow-through. I am a good listener, thinker, and implementer, and I would be honored to work with other alumni in planning opportunities for sustained involvement at the University of Illinois in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences."
