David G. Goese

David G. Goese David G. Goese (student representative, junior class of 2010 in molecular biology, pursuing a minor in Spanish and business, with pre-med intent) is the current LAS Leaders president. His areas of involvement include being the treasurer and founder of Pancakes for Poverty, a volunteer club devoted to reducing poverty through the sale of pancakes in the Champaign-Urbana area. David also has done research with the University of Chicago and Chromatin Biotechnology Inc. He currently works for Dr. Richard Tapping in the U of I microbiology department. David has volunteered at Provena Covenant Hospital for three semesters, and at Crisis Nursery and Urbana Middle School as a tutor. He is also involved with volunteering abroad in places such as a medical clinic in Santa Ana, Costa Rica. Having been a member of LAS Leaders since his freshman year, David has had the opportunity to work with and network among many LAS alumni at various events. David is very excited to serve as a member of the LAS Alumni Association Board, and hopes to "build upon the relationship the Leaders have established in the past with the Board, using this year to increase the group's level of involvement in the campus community."
