Gary J. Greenspan
Gary J. Greenspan (AB '79, political science) resides in Northbrook and is the owner/managing director of Chi-Town Sports, LLC, DBA Hi-Five Sports Camp/Chicago. This business provides sports camps and programming for children ages 5-13. Chi-Town Sports also offers scholarships to numerous underprivileged inner-city children. Gary is responsible for onsite management, communication with parents, and administration of fiscal matters. After graduating from Illinois, Gary attended Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he received his JD in 1982. In 1983, Gary became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade where he traded U.S. Treasury Bonds for nearly 20 years. Gary chose a new career direction in 2001 by founding Chi-Town Sports, a company that enables him to combine his true passions—children and sports. As a volunteer, Gary has been president of the Board of Directors of his homeowners association and active in his local little league baseball organization. In Gary's application for board membership he wrote: "I consider myself to be a people person who enjoys working with various groups to achieve a common goal. I believe that my diverse career path gives me a unique appreciation of the values derived from a solid liberal arts and sciences education at Illinois."
