Scott E. Rice
Scott E. Rice (AB '91, history) resides in Champaign and serves as associate university counsel for the University of Illinois, representing the University's legal interests on all three campuses. In this position, Rice is responsible for legal matters related to capital projects, public finance and utilities, as well as procurement, claims, intergovernmental agreements, and student legal services. Prior to Rice's service with the University, he worked with leaders at the highest levels of all three governmental branches in the state of Illinois. Rice has also been active in several local organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Champaign County Illini Club. In Rice's application letter, he wrote: "Alumni should strive to become an integral part of successfully carrying out the stated mission of the LAS Alumni Association: encouragement, enhancement, and sustenance of the relationship between the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and its alumni. I welcome the opportunity to do my part."
