Illinois is at an enviable stage—the institution itself is a creative seedbed of discovery. The University has embraced the intersection between the arts and sciences. Nowhere is this more true than the College of LAS, allowing us to nimbly respond to complex and ever-changing societal issues.
Our Goal: Supporting People and Programs
Our campaign goal, one of the largest monetary goals on campus, was conceived without capital projects in mind. Instead, it focuses entirely on support for individuals and programs. We're committed to investing strongly in the following general areas—recruiting the best faculty, stimulating advanced research, and drawing the world's best students to study at Illinois.
The remarkable response to our campaign in fiscal year 2007, before the campaign had even been made public, put us ahead of schedule. While we still have millions to raise, your generosity is a testament to your belief and confidence in this organization. Now a year since the public launch of the Brilliant Futures campaign, the College of LAS is nearly 70 percent toward reaching our $250 million funding goal.
One Alum's Passion
Gail Kellogg, a dedicated supporter of the College of LAS, was inspired to make a difference at an early age. "I was well aware that my father's life changed when he went to the University of Illinois and became an engineer," says Kellogg. "Right from the get go, I had the appreciation of the value to families of a good education."
