Cost Guidelines

The Office of Communications and Marketing is a service to units within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Its services are offered either free or at a greatly reduced cost to these units.

Project consultation and planning

No charge.

Surveys and focus groups

Surveys and focus group research that can clearly generate information that benefit a wide audience in LAS are conducted at no charge to the unit requesting the service. Surveys of a more restricted use, however, will still be undertaken as time permits.

We encourage you to contact with a request. Your interests may overlap those of other units more than you expect.

Graphic design

Design services are provided at a minimal fee to LAS units. And to help keep costs low, we will ask you to provide materials to us according to our guidelines, which are intended to streamline the design process.

Any artistic services, such as photography and illustration, will be charged back to the unit on a cost basis.

Mass emails

No charge for preparing emails that fall within the college guidelines. Preparation includes formatting the copy, copyediting, and, in some cases, preparing graphics.

There is, however, a nominal “tracking” fee associated with sending the email. Tracking provides important data on the delivery of the email, such as the number that were successfully delivered and opened.

Coordinating and negotiating printing services

No charge for projects handled by this office.
