Winter Courses Abroad—Global Studies 298
Fall (second 8 weeks) and Winter Break 2012
See how countries respond to the growth of a world economy. Learn how immigration, culture, and religion influence ideas about the world. Discover how global flows have been shaping civilizations and the natural world for centuries.
In GLBL 298: Global Studies Seminars Abroad, you will experience firsthand the impacts of globalization and enhance your global perspective. Each course highlights how its destination reflects the distinct cultures, economies, and politics that have impacted it through global processes and how these influences have been integrated locally to give the place and its inhabitants their unique history, challenges, opportunities, and identity.
The courses are taught in English and offer ample opportunities for you to explore local history, culture, and contemporary society. The excursions include unforgettable sights.
All courses include an 8-week fall seminar in addition to the overseas portion, which is held during winter break.
The GLBL 298 courses begin during the second eight weeks of the Fall semester, and include about two weeks “in the field” abroad.
