With more than 70 majors and minors from which to choose, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has something for just about everyone. The college divides these fields of study into three categories, each of which has general graduation requirements set by the college as well as requirements unique to each field of study. The descriptions here serve as a guide. Always talk to your advisor if you have questions.

Degree Programs and Curricular Options

  • Undeclared/Division of General Studies (formerly LAS General Curriculum)
    A choice for students exploring multiple options for major fields of study while fulfilling General Education Requirements.

  • Sciences and Letters Curriculum
    Traditional majors and minors in the liberal arts and sciences as well as individual plans of study, interdisciplinary majors and minors, and international studies.

  • Specialized Curricula
    Specialized or preprofessional curriculum in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemistry, geology and geophysics, or physics.

  • Secondary Teacher Education
    Secondary teacher education majors in foreign languages or arts and sciences. Minors are also an option.

Additional Options

  • Minors
    Open to students in any curriculum or college at the University.

  • Multiple Majors
    Requirements for pursuing a second major in LAS.
    Note: Students in LAS pursuing a second field in another college must apply to that college directly for a second degree. (Multiple majors cannot be declared across colleges.)

  • Preprofessional Interests
    Students in Sciences and Letters Curriculum may declare their intent.
